I tried Safe Mode, I did system restore, etc. Still a problem. Windows XP. I have DSL. The PC was bought the first week of Jan. I downloaded AVG 8. I tried a system restore to try and wipe out the virus and it did not work restored to Feb 09 and then beginning of Jan. With all this said, all I want to do is clean this and start fresh. As stated, I just bought the PC in Jan. I have nothing to save on My Documents, etc.

I just want to wipe clean my hard drive and start fresh. What steps do I need to do before just going in and removing everything? I do not know much about computers other than turning them on. Scanning it for disk cleanup, reading my email. Saving my pictures onto the PC and reading emails and doing things on the internet.
