E46 m3 ecu software

Cold Start Delete will eliminate the fuel enrichment cycle on a cold start. This will help lower the volume of the vehicle on cold start. It does also prevent the car from idling at a notably higher rate on cold start. Secondary Air Pump Delete will eliminate the functionality of the secondary air pump, along with the error codes associated with a removed secondary air pump.

We do sell block off plates to mechanically eliminate the pump to save weight. Exhaust Burble adds a burble and crackle sound upon overrun. When lifting off the throttle at varying speeds, RPMs, and engine temperatures, the exhaust will make a burble and crackle noise. If Sport Mode was activated in your last drive, then it will remain on. If Sport Mode was deactivated in your last drive, then it will remain off.

Please let us know if you've upgraded to the common 3. AlphaN allows full optimization if the vehicle no longer uses the factory MAF sensor.

It is required that your ECU be shipped to us for conversion. Competition Detuning allows us to calibrate your tune to specific power to weight ratio requirements in various racing classes. You have full control over engine fuel maps, ignition mapping, as well as cam timing, and more. Additional hardware, wiring, programming, and software will be required.

TMS or one of our fully trained installation centers can help set up and program these advanced features. Integration The translator box interfaces with the stock engine harness and interprets signals between the chassis and the Bosch Motorsport ECU.

It is specific to the E46 M3 chassis only. Extensive development and reverse engineering of the stock system was required to retain as much operation as possible. Dynos Stock vs. Bosch no mods Stock vs. Bosch with headers and CSL airbox Stock vs. Bosch headers, aFe intake, Schrick cams Stock vs. Bosch with CSL airbox Tuned 3. Bosch 3. It is able to make more horsepower over the stock ECU because of its processing speed and its precise lambda control.

The factory MSS54 ECU is hampered by its design - it's for meeting emissions and fuel economy targets and will resist major changes to its internals and code. While several tuners have had great success tuning and modifying the stock ECU the fact remains it was never meant to be heavily modified. A stand alone ECU will always be more reliable and easier to work with because it doesn't have to meet emissions of OBD standards.

Can I install it on a street car? Technically and physically, yes you can. There are no permanent modifications to the stock chassis or harness. Everything plugs into the Bosch translator box which connects to the ECU. The Bosch wideband Lambda sensors are required and take the place of the stock pre-cat sensors.

So changing systems back and forth is doable and takes about an hour. However, the Bosch Motorsport ECU is designed to work on cars without catalytic converters and does not have any emissions controls or oversight.

Although this system will increase horsepower on a street car, it is not legal on any street-driven vehicle. Yes, we did tune this system with a CSL airbox. You will need to retrofit an Intake Temperature Sensor IAT to the intake which you would have to do for alpha-n anyway.

We use a Bosch IAT and this can be purchased separately. The Bosch MS40 can be tuned just like an alpha-n system. Will this work on a Euro-spec car? Can I use this with forced induction? And you would be crazy not to! There are many supercharger kits and options and no two setups are the same so additional tuning and adjustments will be required. Our base supercharger file was developed using a Dinan Vortech kit putting out 5. On other supercharger software files we have seen there was tremendous room for improvement.

If you spent all of that money and time on the supercharger it would be crazy not to use the Bosch system for making power. Can a MAP sensor be added? Yes, this system can support additional data from a MAP sensor such as used in forced induction. The Expansion Harness would be required and a separate harness would need to be made from the sensor to the Expansion Harness. What other cars will this fit on?

We are investigating the potential for this to work on engine transplants vehicles with S54s. What is the Expansion Harness for? The Expansion Harness allows more features to be built into the system. If you want to use a data logger or run additional Bosch Motorsport sensors you will need the Expansion Harness to interface with the ECU.

The Expansion Harness cannot be retrofitted to an existing Bosch ECU harness so we strongly recommend opting for it if your future plans include any additional sensors or hardware. If you have your own MSA box you don't need to purchase another so we made this item optional.

When you receive our Bosch ECU system it will be pre-loaded with a base map to get you going. So the MSA is fundamental in the tuning of the car if you don't have one already.
